My Dilemma – Elisha Courage Karuma

My Dilemma

(i)

I’ve seen Angels and goddesses,

But never a nympho from the east.

Pure ecstasy, is how her lips taste

And red lipstick suits her best.

With her, any man would love to cheat.

Tit for Tat, every love story is on a test

As she takes men on a love train

To the west.

I bet, she doesn’t need a moonlit night,

For her to glow so bright

Like that Christmas eve night;

For her smile is elegant enough

to brighten any dark night.

Would you blame me for wanting

To be her Knight?

(ii)

“Just another smile”

Is a misconception of the

Efforts applied to defy the odds.

Your smile it too damn contagious

And it got me making promises

That I can’t keep.

I suppose you the reason

Why I don’t believe in love at first sight

‘Cause I’ve known you for long,

Only to fall in love last night

The moment you smiled,

And your soul literally glittered

To earth’s delight;

It never took me the places,

I can’t lie

But it brought places to me.

Paparazzi, please take that picture up close.

Her eyes are intriguing,

That glowy spark,

which gets me every time;

Moon and stars picture perfect

They mist over when we are flirting

Like when the shy sun, hides behind the clouds

Most importantly,

they make tears look astonishing;

Even when she’s grieving.

Can’t blame me for having a crush on her.

The beauty of a thousand roses in summer.

Her voice is Euphonic

I’ve heard it one, too many times

Even in her sleep, she hums like the Nightingale

And my mood goes Euphoric

As I listen to the love psalms she spits.

I’m not a good listener, but her voice

Lures my attention to her laps

and sing me a lullaby song.

That’s why my love for this one

Is stronger than the gravitational force

that keeps the earth still.

It’s funny how I thought I could resist

But she broke me

(iii)

I can’t promise her the moon and the stars

But if the love in my heart was a currency

I would buy her area 51, shamelessly.

‘Cause she’s the reason why the sun shines

On my side of town;

And why the dimples on my cheeks,

are visible in the dead of night.

I am not here to make her shed a tear

But make sure, she never sheds a tear.
